Two Australian therapists, working independently and unknown to each other, developed the basic concepts of P.S.H. as it is known today. The late Francis (Frank) J. Wright (author: Emotional Healing - P.S.H. a new therapy for the new millennium), and Gregory L. Brice, (author: Healing Your Feelings - with the help of P.S.H. therapy) had both practised as clinical hypnotherapists for many years. They found the techniques of hypnotherapy were often lacking in consistent, genuine, lasting results. Although many of their clients succeeded in making complete and permanent change, the percentage was not high enough to justify the continued use of those techniques.
During this time, through a process of cautious, independent and systematic development of the clinical methods used, both therapists were able to help a greater number of people obtain the permanent changes they sought.
In 1989 Brice and Wright combined their understandings and techniques. Following further refinements and changes, (all developed in the clinical setting), the new therapy model was introduced to other practitioners in 1990 through the Brice-Wright School of Professional Hypnotherapy. Experienced therapists were taught the new approach during a series of workshops. Further refinements were made as training continued and by 1994 the method had evolved so far beyond traditional techniques, it was re-named Private Subconscious-mind Healing (P.S.H.).
At the same time, course structure was changed to include students with no prior knowledge or experience. Since then, P.S.H. is being successfully practised by a rapidly growing number of therapists in Australia and overseas. The clinical results are closely and independently monitored and continue to clearly show a marked superiority to other subconscious-mind therapies.
Clients are not subjected to the probing and analysis inherent in so many other methods and they do not have to suffer the emotional trauma so common to various forms of analytical and other traditional approaches. Therapy is much quicker and less painful and clients are far more inclined to recommend P.S.H. to their friends than other subconscious-mind techniques. The Principal trainer's practice has supported itself exclusively by client referral since 1982.

SOME SIMPLE FACTS There is only ONE, genuine P.S.H. therapy. It was developed entirely in Australia, (see Development of P.S.H. in this site) and is practised in Australia by a growing number of fully trained and qualified practitioners. During the past few years, an increasing number of people are claiming to be P.S.H. therapists and some who even claim to be teaching P.S.H. therapy to others, who have never been trained in the method, themselves. Unfortunately, this now applies both in Australia and several other countries. Also, there are now quite a number of therapies with names very similar to P.S.H., being advertised on the internet and in other types of media. Our concern is that these other therapies may appear to the uninformed, to actually be P.S.H. when they are not. We do not say that those other methods are no good, however we ARE concerned that people may be confused. The genuine model of P.S.H. therapy is ONLY taught in Australia and at present, it is only taught by International Centre for Subconscious-mind Training & Research (QLD) - the owners of this website. The therapy method itself, has been practised consistently and effectively in Australia since 1984. If you are in ANY doubt as to what is or is not, genuine P.S.H. therapy or whether a particular person is qualified as a P.S.H. therapist, please contact us through this site. You will find our contact numbers and email address on the Contact Us page and other places in this site. We can supply a list of qualified therapists if you are seeking help with P.S.H., or you can browse the referral lists on the ASTA website - a link to which is included on the Therapist Referrals page.
